Welcome!

This is the first issue of our revamped newsletter, keeping you abreast of what we are doing and providing original pieces of research, thought and knowledge. Every month we will add to our ‘knowledge centres’ presented here as well as bringing you an original ‘thought piece’ from Michael Hulme at Henley Management College.

We have all read much about the new directory enquiry services and so we decided to run our own test of 12 of them using our Soft Skills Benchmarking methodology. The results make interesting reading and can be found in our centre for Customer Services.

This month we have completed the creation of our ‘Urban Behaviours’ methodology, which sees a range of typologies designed to help us understand the lifestyles of 15-35 year-olds in 8 English cities. As such, these form the basis of two of our articles this month – one that gives an early insight into how these lifestyles differ across the cities and the second that contrasts their use of mobile phones. By the time you read this, I will have presented an overview of this research at the next Wave Crest Alliance event at Henley Management College.

We are also pleased to announce that the 1st quarter of 2004 will see us re-visit the Me, My Mobile and I research for the fourth consecutive year. This methodology continues to go from strength to strength and we have again been invited to present the findings at the Global GSM conference in 2004.
